Ms. Jiajia Luo

Ms. Luo Jiajia joined China Green Foundation in 2012 and now is the deputy director of the Project Management Department and is mainly responsible for collaboration projects with international NGOs in China. Ms. Luo has eight years of NGO experience with the project implementation and policy issue. Before joining CGF, she used to work as a senior media consultant for The Climate Group, a British NGO initiated by Tony Blair and other business elites. e to her early working experience with China Daily as a journalist, the only national English newspaper in China.

Regarding the UNCCD related experience, Ms. Luo attended COP 12 in Ankara in 2015 and CRIC 15 in Nairobi in 2016, representing CGF. In 2017, CGF was nominated both by UNCCD and SFA as CSO focal point for COP 13 and Ms. Luo is the one who took the lead for this task. She and her team helped Chinese CSOs got registered with UNCCD, organized the CSO preparatory meeting prior to the COP, worked closely with UNCCD CSO panel in the organizational and logistic maters related with the COP, and helped publish and distribute daily ECO News during the COP to make sure that CSOs voice are heard.

China Green Foundation is a national wide foundation that was founded in 1985. One of its focuses is desertification control. In recent 10 years, CGF has invested around 100 million RMB in land restoration by planting trees in Gansu Province, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Inner Mongolia, the most draught-hit areas in northwest China. It also has established a good network with grass-roots CSOs, academic institutes and local governments related to combatting desertification.
