During the Belt and Road International Forum for Public Cooperation on Ecological Remediation, on Sept. 13 nights, Pradeep Monga, Deputy Executive Secretary of UNCCD had a meeting with the 16 CSOs, most of whom are UNCCD accredited. During this meeting, crucial issues were raised such us how UNCCD Secretariat to better support CSOs participants on UNCCCD events (COP and CRITC), to strengthen the communication about this Convention among the public, especially the youth, and to support CSOs to have more powerful interaction with their national focal points, for instance, to include the CSO work in the national report. CSO representatives from Argentina, Togo, India, Russia and China raised questions to the DES respectively. Tree members of CSO panel attended this meeting : Jiajia Luo (Representative of Asia), Djatougbe Aziaka (Representative of Africa) and Octavio Perez Pardo (Representative of Latin America and the Caribbean).
All the participants thanked Dr. Pradeep Monga Sir « for sparing his invaluable time for a meeting with all of us in late night on 13th September, which was very useful indeed ».
